It is true that the future of power generation in the US is at a crucial crossroad. There is a constant struggle between the cheap generation technologies (coal, gas) and the increasing public and political concern about climate change. The US, especially California, is taking the lead in establishing the importance of greener power. With its strict auto smog laws, and its cooperation in stopping pollution, the US has no choice but to follow California. With non-renewable resources running low and pollution affecting day-to-day life, the time has come. Jim Cook, Democrat for California State Assembly, 10th district believes it is important to provide funding to help create greener power in America. Jim Cook vows to stand and aid in the development of renewable energy resources that promote not only clean air but independence and job growth. Veterans: Our Past, Our Present and Our Future
With only a few veterans left from the world wars and over 20,000 Americans wounded in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, there are over 200,000 homeless veterans in this country. Is this how we as a nation thank those citizens who volunteered to fight for our values and rights?
Although there are a few foundations claiming to construct amenities to house veteran families and provide hospitals to help veterans, this is not enough. There are still over 100,000 people being unhelped! After enduring all the heartache and pain throughout their duties in the war to protect this country, veterans need our help. They need our support to get back into real American life. They need help to have the funds to raise their families. A war changes a person, and Americans need to understand this. What would we do without veterans? In the future, if we do not look after our own, we may not have anyone to represent and fight for our country. We cannot forget this. Jim Cook, Democrat for California State Assembly, 10th district understands this. He, more than any other candidate, wants all veteran families to be recognized. Jim Cook undertakes that he will do all he can to improve healthcare and provide readjustment services for veterans and their families. Education is the Seed to America
It is common knowledge that education spurs economic growth. Education seems to be popping up more and more across the world. Countries like East Asia, Russia and India have shown a positive correlation between their high investments in education and their high rates of economic growth. Recently, the states has come into some scrutiny that there is not enough funding to public educational institutions.
Unlike the nationally regulated and financed education systems of other industrialized societies, American education is primarily the concern of the states and individual school districts. At the time of Confederation, the founding fathers proposed that Americans give high priority to a “crusade against ignorance.” However, more and more we see the drop out rates of students rising. The country has the resources but is not focusing its energy on what is right in front of it. Instead of fighting outsiders, the country should be training its insiders who would then have the brain power and wit to compete with countries like India and China.
One man in California is determined to see that the founding father’s wishes are granted. America should never be considered an “ignorant” state. Jim Cook, running for state assembly, should be commemorated for his dedication to bring America out of its ignorance. By increasing funding, Jim Cook vows to provide quality public education for all so that every person will have the knowledge and capability to bring growth to this country. His campaign is the beginning of a fight to bridge the values that unite Americans. Show your support for superior education, donate or volunteer today.
